This volume consists of copies of tax records from Pitt Township, Pennsylvania, spanning from 1795 to 1798. It includes the names of tax payers, the value of property they owned, and taxes they paid. The names are arranged alphabetically and chronologically as well as geographically within Pitt Township. Several of the years are listed twice. The copies were created by the Pennsylvania Society of Colonial Dames of America in 1941. The earliest tax records of Allegheny County were destroyed in a fire in the Allegheny County Courthouse in 1882. Read more...
