Collection Finding Aids Now Integrated in Historic Pittsburgh Search

Not everything held by our Historic Pittsburgh partners is digitized and can be found online. However, listings of non-digitized content can be searched in finding aids (also known as collection guides). Finding aids such as these include a brief overview of each collection, information about the person, organization or institution who created the collection, and typically an inventory which lists each folder in the collection.

Updates to BETA Site

As the new Historic Pittsburgh site continues in BETA, we will try to indicate what “bug” has been fixed or new feature implemented or some other change you should know about.
One recent improvement is a change to browsing through the collections by title. Rather than jumping forward by increments of 10 (which also assumed you knew what collections comprised each of those 10 segments), we have changed this so you can browse through the list alphabetically. This website has been released in BETA, which means that it is subject to change with little or no notice. It may be unavailable from time to time as developers make necessary changes and improvements to it. Nonetheless, it does offer improved functionality to access these digital collections and we encourage you to use it and welcome your feedback.

We're pleased to annouce the launch of the BETA version of our new Historic Pittsburgh site. It offers improved searching and viewing tools and new content, including manuscripts.
